Marriage, the Church, and Self-Loathing Gay Men Live

Last night on British television show 10 O’clock Live, David Mitchell hosted a round table discussion on gay marriage in the UK. It’s an idea that has support from conservative Prime Minister David Cameron in a country where civil partnerships are already legal. At issue is whether marriage needs to be extended to gay couples since partnerships already provide the same rights. The matter received attention earlier in the week when Catholic Cardinal Keith O’Brien said the plan would subvert human rights.
